Residents face another stage of discussions about the future of Gdańsk's southern districts. On June 15, public consultations will begin on the preliminary urban concept of the Gdańsk Nowe Południe master plan. For the first time, residents will be able to see the proposed development of the areas around the planned PKM Południe line and submit their comments.
During the meetings, residents and all interested parties will be able to see for the first time the proposals for the area's development, prepared based on spatial analyses and conclusions from the first stage of public consultations (report available on the nowepoludnie.pl website).
The urban concept concerns, among other things, the spatial layout of new districts, the development of green areas, public spaces, local service centers, and pedestrian, cycling, and transport connections around the planned PKM Południe.
"For the first time, we are showing residents the preliminary urban concept for the development of areas around PKM Południe," explains Michał Jamroż, project manager for Gdańsk Nowe Południe. "This is not yet a final document, but a starting point for further discussion and joint refinement of solutions. We want to see which proposals meet the needs of residents and which still require changes. This is precisely why we are conducting consultations at such an early stage of design.".
Open consultation meetings will be held:
- June 15, 5:30 PM, Primary School No. 19, ul. Emilii Hoene 6,
- June 22, 5:30 PM, Primary School No. 86, ul. Wielkopolska 20.
Additionally, consultation points are planned:
- June 17, 4:00 PM - 7:30 PM, Morska Primary School – Południe, ul. Srebrna 11
- June 20, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Multipark Południe
- June 26, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Łostowice-Świętokrzyska tram loop
- June 27, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Sandomierska bus stop
Every resident of the area covered by the Gdańsk Nowe Południe master plan, users of this space, and those interested in its development can participate in the consultations. The process is open. The organizers ensure accessibility for people with disabilities, including the presence of a sign language interpreter (organizers request prior notification of the need for an interpreter to the email address: kontakt@nowepoludnie.pl), as well as childcare during meetings.
Concurrently, from June 15 to 28, a geo-survey will be available, allowing for remote opinion gathering. Those interested in the project can submit their comments and questions at any time:
- e-mail: kontakt@nowepoludnie.pl
- phone: +48 724 691 444
The consultations on the preliminary urban concept are another stage of the participatory process conducted as part of the project. After the work on a more detailed urban concept is completed, residents will be invited again to participate in public consultations.
The area covered by the master plan covers approximately 164 hectares of land located along the future PKM Południe line – from Orunia to Kowale. The project is being implemented jointly by the City of Gdańsk and the Pomeranian Voivodeship Self-Government through their companies – InvestGDA and the Pomeranian Development Agency. The aim of the undertaking is to plan the development of the southern districts in such a way that the new railway line becomes an impulse for creating well-connected, green, and livable places.
