We are planning the development of the southern districts of Gdańsk

The Masterplan Gdańsk Południe is a vision for the development of a modern, multifunctional district along the new Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway line.

A plan that connects

housing, service, transport and public investments into a coherent whole serving residents, investors and the city.

The new railway line will not only improve transport accessibility, but can also become an impulse for creating local district centers – convenient, green and well connected to each other.

The construction of a railway line in the southern part of Gdańsk is a huge development opportunity. The master plan is to prevent spatial chaos and ensure that the development of this part of the city is well thought out and serves the residents. This is a document that organizes the directions of change for years.

Transit Oriented Development (TOD)

The new development of the areas around PKM Południe will be based on the idea of Transit Oriented Development (TOD), i.e. development focused on public transport. In practice, this means dense, comfortable development in the vicinity of railway and bus stops.

The creation of the masterplan is an open and transparent process. The assumptions of the document will be developed by residents, entrepreneurs and investors as part of a broad social consultation process.

The Masterplan will indicate how to use the enormous potential,

which is created by the construction of a city railway in one of the largest districts of the city – it will facilitate daily commutes, create attractive places to live and work, and attract new investors.

What are the stages of creating the masterplan?

Stage I

Urban

We will analyze development possibilities:

  • how many apartments can be built,
  • what social services will be needed (schools, nurseries, clinics),
  • how to fit it into the district layout to avoid chaos.
Stage II

Urban and architectural

We will make a plan for 10 years ahead:

  • what will be the needs of the housing market,
  • where to provide space for offices and workplaces,
  • what commercial and service functions are needed to make the district self-sufficient.
Stage III

Detailed architectural

Here we will turn the plan into concrete:

  • development projects for selected areas will be created,
  • concepts for buildings, streets, squares and parks.
  • Checking how the whole thing works in practice.
